Japanese Samurai Swords

There’s something unique about Japanese samurai swords which captures the imagination and doesn’t let go until it’s run riot with it. Images which spring to mind upon inspecting a beautiful Japanese samurai sword may be ones of solitary Ronin, roaming feudal Japan, with only his katana, skill and wits keeping him alive. It can sometimes be images of battle, and the terror on the faces of the countless samurai and multi-national combatants whom have perished at the razor sharp slash of a victorious samurai’s blade. Or, it could be the glowing steel being repeatedly heated, hammered and cooled in a darkened room by the sword smith; the architect of the most legendary swords in the world.

Today, Japanese samurai swords may be purely for ornamental or collection purposes, but the powerful aura, history, and menace they exude is undeniable and has lost non of it’s potency. Samurai may have long since become a warrior of the past, but the weapons they wielded still live on – literally. Not only are Japanese samurai swords of multi-centenary commonplace in Japan – swords which have been held, wielded, and possibly killed men – but even today’s newly forged swords are as genuine as they have ever been.
